On June 19, 2007, the King Edward Revitalization Company announced that the structural testing of the King Edward Hotel building had been completed and that the project would proceed as planned. At that time, we announced a $73 million mixed use development that would include 186 hotel rooms, meeting and conference rooms, 56 apartments, retail establishments and parking.
Since that time, we have added the renovation of the Standard Life Building to the project and are now looking at investing over $100 million in the revitalization of Downtown Jackson. With the joint development of these two properties, we will create a vibrant and sustainable neighborhood that will be the envy of other cities.
As previously announced, construction on the project will begin in November and is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2009.
